Em is my best best best friend and a new blogger.
All the ah-mazing pictures and spreads you see on my blog are the work of Little Miss Emmie :)
She is the most talented photographer I know and I wouldn't trust anyone else to take my pictures.
Some Saturdays we have three hour photo shoots and this girl will take 1000 pictures and I won't even ask to see one. I completely trust her to make sure I don't look like a complete idiot :)
She's not just my photographer. She's my sister. [Just not blood related ;) ] We are stranded in Suburbia all alone. But her friendship helps me keep my sanity. We have sleepovers and stay up to see the sun rise because we always have so much to talk about. Everything from the latest Vogue issue to gossip about models to watching all the designers latest runway shows and awing over them... We do it all together. I'd be lost with out her. She supports my blogging and love for fashion more than anyone else on planet earth.

Journey Behind Emma's Camera Lends

Two days till Christmas and its 80 degrees outside. I got a tan line in December. Oh, the joys of living in Texas!
Dressing like its actually going to be Christmas in 48 hours, and fact that I have to turn the AC on high in my car was a challenge. I could have put on shorts, a tank and sunglasses and been fine. But I would look a little strange Christmas shopping in Summer attire... So I slipped on a light weight knit dress and nixxed the shrug I usually put over it. And a thin scarf helped too.

Dress: Frenchi, Nordstrom's
Shoes: Payless
Scarf: Christmas present from Grandma
Belt: Barney's New York (I'm obsessed already!!)

Pre-Debutant Ball

So for those of you that don't know, I was nominated to be a Debutant! Being a Debutant is a timeless tradition. In most cases you have to be extremely wealthy and related to-or be- royalty. Believe me, I am neither. Down here in the South being a Debutante is about etiquette, poise, class, inner and outer beauty, and personality.
Tonight was the ball where all 81 nominees are invited. Then a panel of judges will decide the 25 girls that will be crowned officially as Debutantes. On May 1st 2010 those lucky 25 girls will receive their letters inviting them to the annual Debutant Ball. Fingers crossed!

Here are some pics of us getting ready for the big night:

My model face.

Shoes: Alice + Olivia
Opera-lengthed gloves
Earrings!
My great grandmothers.

278 Swavarski crystals. 37 man labour hours. Endless cuts and bloody fingers. One gorgeous dress.
The emblem was inspired by Cinderella's carriage.
Fairytale inspiration. Fairytale dress. Fairytale night.

My nails got messed up right before I left!... Oh, wait. I wore gloves the whole night.

More pics later!
XOXO
Sammie

Spring/Summer 2010: Jason Wu: Ordinary to Extrodinary

Jason Wu
"Ordinary to Extraordinary"
Jason Wu, a mere 26 years old, launches his Spring/Summer 2010 that has hot celebrities head over heals. The designer took average, everyday American sports wear and reinvented it into something beautiful and something chic. Luxurious fabrics, geometric prints, feathers, bright colors and chic hats give his collection a whimsical feel.
"Its all about contrast," says the designer, who spent four to five hours dressing each girl. It is this precision and skill that allowed him to design freelance doll clothes for Integrity Toys, who named him creative director at 17. Less than ten years later he is one of the biggest names in fashion.

Quirky yet Classy

A tweed sweat suit = Awesome.

Ahhh. Love.

So chic! Why can't we all walk down the street wearing this?
