FEARLESS: Explicit Version

Not all photos are about glamorous clothing, flawless make-up and hard-core hair. Sometimes easy does it. Simplicity can bring out the beauty in things. When you have a brightly colored, well made garment, the quality of the garment gets overpowered by the vibrant color. The last two seasons nudes have been creeping their way into the runways. The lack of color lets the true beauty of the garment shine. So, in this shoot with Em (and my other two best friends) I tried to demonstrate this trend of simplicity=quality by taking all the glamor and glitz out of the photos to let the elements of the photograph- like the lighting and the pose- shine through. Its all about working with statement pieces. Cough cough like a hat, I don't know? I let my hair dry, wore no make-up, and modeled the simplest black dress I own. And-worst of all- NO HEELS! Talk about brave.
I don't even look at my own face this close... but its a good example of how to work the elements of the photograph (Brilliant Emma noticed that the gaps in the star of my hat gave me light freckles. What a genius!) so i gathered all my courage and posted it.

My lovely friends observing

We met two little boys fishing on the doc and told them we were professional models and insisted they get their picture taken with us.
Her face! Hahah

What good sports!

Next modeling here we come!

We love you Karlie Kloss.

All photos were UNEDITED and uncropped. Thanks to the brilliant work of EMMA BANKS and the natural beauty of my dear friends.

Let your light shine.

You Can Grow Flowers From Where Dirt Used To Be

Soooo Em found a shack that doesn't have a fence around it so we decided to go take pictures by it. Except when we got there neither of us had the desire to come with in ten feet of the place. It looked like a breeding spot for hobos. And were pretty sure there was one watching out of that second story window. Suburbia's finest.
So we did the best we could to get the shack in the picture while staying close enough to civilization.

"Are you kidding me?! I'm NOT going in there!"

Weeds.

Half way through the shoot Emma's camera battery died. But it was okay because she had a spare in her camera bag. Today we learned that a spare battery is only good if the spare is charged.

Ps. There wasn't really any hobos in the shack at ten in the morning. We were safe but too chicken to go in the shack because the inside was all torn up. Plus it was really muddy and we didn't wanna get our shoes dirty. But still. I wouldn't suggest going after dark...
